On Monday November 10, Turning Point USA had its final stop of a 2025 tour on campus at UC Berkeley. Whilst attendees sat inside Zellerbach Hall, furious students, staff, and community members protested outside, declaring that conservative and instigative media were not welcome on campus. Outraged that the progressive campus would host TPUSA’s “American Comeback Tour”, students surrounded the building with signs, facing off against the Berkeley Police Department, UC Police Department, and law enforcement from Alameda County, all equipped with riot gear, expecting a showdown. Cops cocked their guns at students below, whilst the crowd booed and shamed the organization. Despite being met with BPD, the protests lasted well into the evening as tensions grew between students and police. Students argued that police presence escalated an already tense situation and that media that spreads racist, transphobic, and exclusive rhetoric is not welcome on campus.
